​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Jim Becker hails from Windsor, Connecticut and moved south to Marietta, Georgia with his family during his Junior year in high school. He went on to earn a Full Golf Scholarship to the University of Georgia where he majored in General Management at the Business School. During his time at UGA Jim excelled as an All Southeastern Conference and All American collegiate golfer, earning the Most Valuable Player award in his Senior year for the University of Georgia Bulldog team. He was a four year Lettermen at the University of Georgia. In January 2010, he was inducted into his Wheeler High School Hall of Fame in Marietta, Georgia. Jim  was recently inducted into the Connecticut State Golf Hall of Fame in December 2021! "the thrill of a lifetime"

Jim has a wealth of experience as a professional golfer, having competed in events on the PGA Tour, European Tour (DP now), Hogan Tour, Nike Tour (Korn Ferry Tour Now), Canadian Tour, and South African Tours as well as many regional New England Tournaments and other tournaments throughout the country and the Islands. He has an impressive track record of winning over 60 golf tournaments, including the Southern Juniors, the Chris Schenkel Intercollegiate, the New England Open, the Connecticut Open (twice) and most recently the Vermont Senior Open, the Rhode Island Senior Open (five times),  the Cape Cod Senior Open, the Greater Hartford Senior Open, the Bermuda Senior Open, and the Connecticut Senior Open (three times). Jim's latest win was the 2020 CT Senior Open and made him the only three time winner of this two day Championship. Jim now has recently become the 2024 Rhode Island Senior co-champion tying his good friend Fran Quinn. ( there was no playoff)


Aside from his playing background which gives Jim a great insight into what works in tournament play under pressure, he has over 30 years of Golf Instruction experience and has worked with several young, talented Junior Golfers that are playing golf at the Collegiate level and some rising Junior Golfers. This list includes Mark Wilson, Cody Brew, Matt Quinn, and Austin Perkins Jr. Matt Quinn currently is a sophmore on the Lehigh University Golf Team.  Austin Perkins Jr. in 2024 became the youngest Connecticut State Amateur Champion ever at the young age of 16. The CT State Amateur Championship is the oldest Golfing State Amateur Championship in the country. A remarkable feat by young Austin Jr. He recently committed to play golf for the University of Florida Golf Team. It is a perenial powerhouse in the SEC Conference and in the nation. Jim has also worked with Fran Quinn a former PGA Tour player, four time Web.com(Korn Ferry Tour) winner and current PGA Tour Champions player along with several Symetra Tour players including former Big Break runner-up Selanee Henderson. Jim's many local amateur players include Nick Waddington who won the 2021 Ct State Public Links Championship and Mike Serio who won the 2021 Shennecossett Senior Club Championship and the Shennecossett Club Championship. And Current 2024 Blue Fox Run Club Champion Anthony Salvador.

Whether you are a professional tour player or a beginning golfer, Jim takes delight in the success of all his students. Playing lessons have become a popular choice for many of his students. These lessons cover on course pre-shot routine, course management, shot selection & shot control, short game shots, and reading greens as well as the most important mental side of the game. Group, clinic, and corporate outing rates are welcome and available. Along the way, Jim also has 20 plus years experience in golf retail sales. Including three years of managing a multi-million dollar golf discount retail store. Under Jim
's management the store set its yearly record sales of 9.8 million. Jim's expertise in club fitting includes extensive knowledge of golf shafts, golf club design, grip size, and golf ball technology which blends very well with his Golf Instruction and can be a valuable asset for his students.


Jim resides on Talcott Mountain with his wife Geena, a Realtor with William Raveis Real Estate, and their two dogs, Wolfgang and Pluto. He has a son, Brandon, who is a Graduate of Central Connecticut State University and is currently the TaylorMade Golf Representative in the Coastal Carolinas. Brandon and his wife Jennifer live in Greenville SC (for now )and have three children Payton, Logan, and Delaney who are Jim and Geena's pride and joy!
